At Southern Utah University, the Percussion Studio is a close-knit group of musicians who like to balance working hard with the fun of pursuing music.  As a Percussionist as SUU you can study all orchestral percussion instruments, solo artist development, drum set, world music percussion, jazz vibes and contemporary chamber music.  Students also can have the opportunity to build programs themselves such as the Bumbleberrry Jam Youth Percussion ensemble or working with career development in Arts Management.  Our students have been successful in many competitions, and our Percussion Ensemble was the featured performer at the 2012 Utah Music Educator’s Convention. We also travel to rural schools to present drum classes as well as tour for recruitment, go to PASIC and travel to away football games.  We have an active drumline during both the Fall and Spring semesters. SUU hosts many professional guest artists throughout the school year, as students of the university you will be exposed to professional performers in all area of music.
